Usa Hachiman Shrine, located in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a historic shrine that passed through the Seto Inland Sea from its head shrine in Usa City, Oita Prefecture. As we celebrate the 800th anniversary of founding in 2027, we aim to further strengthen the Ujiko area through the 800th anniversary festival and create a “super Ujiko” that crossovers geographical boundaries. We will plan, design, and direct numerous rituals, and festivals until 2027, and create a model for shrine and community management based on the shrine Ujiko system in an era of population decline.
